Career Fair

Career FairThere is a great variety of career opportunities that lie in the industry of delivering electricity. Each year Mecklenburg Electric Cooperative (MEC) participates in career fairs at various high schools in our service territory to give young people the opportunity to learn more about our company and explore potential employment opportunities. If you are interested in having MEC participate in a job fair at your school, please contact Danielle Potter, at (434) 372-6191.

“A Day in the Life at an Electric Cooperative” is an educational program that builds awareness about our energy industry and the need for a talented workforce. More than just a job fair for high school students, MEC aims to instill an interest in the energy industry and encourages students to plan their educational path, in advance, in order to complete appropriate classes and programs that will prepare them as a competitive, viable job applicant in the future. Building awareness at an early age is imperative for our youth and MEC has catered this program to introduce both technical positions, which do not require a 4-year college degree, as well as those where additional education after high school is necessary.
