Annual Meeting Registration Guidelines

Insure Your  Eligibility for Prizes                                                Cast Your Vote

When attending your Cooperative’s Annual Meeting of the Members, it is important to understand the registration process so that you’ll be able to take advantage of all the benefits of being a member. Please remember that in order to register, receive any gifts or be eligible for prizes, you must be the legal account holder. Other family members who live in the home where the Cooperative service is established are more than welcome and encouraged to attend the meeting; however, they are ineligible to register as official participants and, therefore, unable to  receive the welcoming gift or be included in the drawing for door prizes.

This requirement is important, not only from a procedural standpoint with regard to elections and Cooperative business, but also to provide a fair opportunity for all members to receive a substantive gift and a reasonable opportunity to win a door prize. If everyone, from every household, was eligible, none of those objectives would be met.

We certainly hope you plan to attend the annual meeting, and here’s how you can check beforehand to see if you are eligible for registration:  Take a look at your electric bill.  If your name is listed as the Customer Name in the Account Information section at the top left of your bill, you can register when you arrive, receive the welcoming gift, vote on business matters, and be entered in the drawing for prizes. For married couples with a joint membership, both names are listed in the Customer Name box. Either of the two can register, vote and be eligible for prizes at the drawing. (If both attend, they can receive one welcoming gift and cast one collective vote.)

When an account remains in the name of an individual who is deceased, a surviving spouse or family member cannot register for that account.  To be eligible, a request must be made to change the membership name to that of the spouse or other family member.  This request should be made at least one week in advance of the meeting.

As always, we’ll be more than happy to assist you with any changes or questions that you may have.  We hope to see all of you at this year’s Meeting of the Members on June 17.
